2013 is the 28th Uxbridge Studio Tour and twenty eight studios and galleries and their many guest artists in Uxbridge and area will create a visual feast for you on the self guided tour which is always on the 2nd weekend of September.
As the years go by, artists come and go on the tour but we have a core of dedicated and talented regulars; gold and silversmiths Megan Jones and David Swinson, glass artist Francis Muscat, sculptor JP Schoss and painter Lynne McIlvride Evans, to name a few. The diversity and quality of their work is superb, recognized and celebrated well beyond our local community.
On our tour you will meet goldsmiths, jewelers and blacksmiths, glass artists, ceramists, fibre artists, sculptors, painters, photographers, printmakers, wood workers and stone carvers who explore their media in many innovative ways and who are working at the highest creative levels.
The tour is only part of what we do. Three years ago we published an impressive catalogue Work from Hand, Mind and Heart, the Uxbridge Artist’s Collective, 25 Years a few copies of which are still available. We also exhibit annually as a group, this past summer at Propeller Centre for the Visual Arts in Toronto. We can’t wait to meet you and show you how we work, talk about why we work and exchange ideas with you about what it all means. Hearing what you think about our work is one of the great benefits of our tour; if you want to own our work – even better.
As you will soon discover, Uxbridge Studio Tour artists are a stimulating, and varied mix of dedicated artists. Enjoy the tour!
