Since 2015 The Second Wedge Brewing Company has been a hub for Uxbridge arts, music, socializing and more. Not only that, they were the Uxbridge Studio Tour's primary sponsor for many years. But this year the tables have turned (literally). After May's devastating tornado the artists of the Uxbridge Studio Tour are now able to give back to 'the Wedge'. We are delighted to sponsor the Second Wedge Brewing Company's beer garden for tour weekend!
May 21, 2022 - The Uxbridge Tornado
On May 21st of this year, The Second Wedge Brewing Company sustained major damage during the EF2 tornado that struck Uxbridge.
We’re all grateful that although the brewery had a full house of staff and visitors at the time, everyone was ok. In fact, in spite of the devastation that the storm left in its path, no one in Uxbridge was injured! Absolutely amazing!
Nonetheless, the structural damage to the brewery and many other buildings (including homes) in town was significant. While many homes had to be torn down, others are still sit waiting for essential repairs due to a shortage of workers - The Second Wedge included.
You Can't Keep a Great Brewery Down
Although the brewery building is simply a shell at this point, the resourceful owners have not given up!
Owners Joanne and Rob, along with their devoted team rolled up their sleeves and got to work cleaning up their much-loved beer garden and finding ways to brew their outstanding lineup of craft beers off-site.
It's been a tough few months but we are delighted to say that The Second Wedge Brewing Company beer garden and 'bottle shop' will be open to welcome you September 17-18 as part of the Uxbridge Studio Tour.
