Shannie Van Buren
Inspired by life and nature, Shannie strives to infuse a sense of play, wonder, humour and lightness into each captivating work of art she creates.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
After studying Fashion Communications and Design at Ryerson University in Toronto Canada, Shannie decided to use her education and talent towards a career as a professional artist.
For the last 11 years, her work can be found in children’s books, Sunnybrook Hospital and Camp Robin Hood and has received recognition as a Ketubah artist for Ketubah.com.
Previous clients include IheartRadio, Camp Robin Hood, and Sunnybrook Hospital. Shannie is endlessly inspired by life and nature, and her goal as an artist is to infuse a sense of play and wonder into everything she creates.
Finding the humour and lightness in things and then bringing that to life is what fuels her (along with chocolate. She loves her chocolate).
Shannie also enjoys exaggerating and embellishing nature, creating vibrant, whimsical scenes that can border on the fantastical, because who doesn’t love a touch of fantasy these days?
Studio 2
Shannie will be showing her work at the rural studio and performance space of Diana Lopez Soto along with fellow guest artist Katy MacFarlane.
If you would like to purchase a piece of Shannie's work or request a custom commission piece, contact Shannie directly through her website, by email, or by giving her a call.
